Distribution and Habitat
Bobcats, stocky, mid-sized cats with distinctive spotted fur, are widely distributed across the United States, including throughout the state of Texas. They inhabit a diverse range of ecosystems, from humid swamps to desert lands and rugged mountains.
Diet and Behavior
Bobcats are solitary hunters known for their stealthy movements and sharp senses. They primarily prey on small rodents, such as rats, squirrels, and mice, as well as rabbits. Their diet also includes birds and occasionally deer. Bobcats typically weigh between 15 and 30 pounds and measure approximately 35 inches in length.
